The first few days of 2012 have been a blur. For as long as I can remember this has been the case. We always seem to say that the holidays start earlier and earlier, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Christmas, Birthday, and New Years.

Did you see that progression, look carefully. If you are a Capricorn, you probably saw it right away. The birthday squeezed in between Christmas and New Years.

Even in this crazy busy time of yeaer, so many of you found a few extra minutes to think about me, and I’m so grateful. My mailbox was full of cards, I couldn’t answer the telephone fast enough, and so many of my Facebook friends sent me their best wishes.

It humbles me, because there’s no way I can repay each and every one of you in the same way. Thank You.

I love my job. It can be a lot of fun, always going to fancy weddings, but I’m not there to have a good time, I’m there to get you incredible photos of everything happening.

And this is my website, a place for you to come to (hopefully often) to learn more about how I work, to see some great pictures from weddings I’ve had the privilege of photographing, and get some tips on what you can do to have the perfect wedding. Most people only plan one wedding in their lifetime, and go to a handful per year. I attend on average a wedding per week. I’ve been doing this for the past 6+ years, and have photographed well over 400. I’ve seen it all, and I’ve got some stories to tell.

Today is my 41st birthday. It’s also the last day of 2011. My new year’s resolution is to make my website your go to resource for wedding photography in Austin. I’ll share something with you everyday: how to pose, where to find some of the the best Austin Photo locations, and a bunch of other wedding tips. I want to help you learn just a little bit about what makes a great photo (Hint: It’s not about the camera), and make you, your family, and all your guests feel super comfortable whenever I’m around (Another Hint: This is what it’s about).

This is what my website looks like today. Over the next 12 months it is going to change. I have no idea exactly how it will end up this time next year, but I want to have a snapshot to share with you. Some of the things I’ll be doing is showing real pictures of Austin wedding venues decorated, and other detail shots to get you inspired, and excited about your wedding. So be sure to bookmark me, join my facebook page, and follow me on Twitter. I’m excited to help you get great wedding photos.

Happy Near Year to all my blog readers. 2009 was a wonderful year, full of great things for me – I shot 33 weddings, bought a house, rescued a westie, and spent 3 weeks in Spain and France. I hope you had just as many successes!

When I opened my computer this morning, and saw that the date was 2010, Jan 1, I immediately recognized a familiar symbol 01.01.10

For those of you who aren’t nerds, geeks, or computer programmers, today translates very nicely into binary 010110. And there are a bunch of different translations of the code. What color is 010110? It’s a dark black. But according to Pantone, the official popular color for this year is turquoise – who knew?

2010 in binary is a dark color

what does 010110 equal in binary? Twenty two

0 = 2<sup>5</sup> = 0
1 = 2<sup>4</sup> = 16
0 = 2<sup>3</sup> = 0<sup>
1 = 22 = 4
1 = 2<sup>1</sup> = 2<sup>
0 = 20 = 0

—————
22

What does it mean for you?
