It’s that time of year again, the time where weddings aren’t happening every weekend. I’ve got time to work on all the different wedding albums people have been asking about. It’s not easy to create the album. Each is a custom designed layout with images that you choose, placed in a sequence that tells the story of your wedding.
I feel that the wedding album is the absolute best way to preserve and showcase your wedding pictures. They look great sitting on your coffee table, or bookshelf. Wedding albums don’t rely on technology either. Just open them up and you can enjoy them. No loading a CD into a computer and waiting for the photos to appear. No worrying about scratching or loosing the disc, either.
If your package includes an album, you have already received instructions about how to choose photos, as well as the entire process and timeline. Otherwise, here is a brief rundown.
First pick out 50 or so of your favorite shots – add them to a lightbox that you create in your proof gallery
Then send me a note saying that you have make your picks – be sure to share the lightbox with me. I can’t see it if you don’t.
I will then design your layout using the photos you have selected as your favorite. Each photo is completely retouched, all skin blemishes are removed, images are cropped and rotated for placement, and artistic enhancements are added to select images, too.
When the design is ready, I will send you a link to the draft – You can make as many changes as you want, but keep in mind that each change takes time.
Once the design is finalized, and you have given your approval, I send off the design to get the pages printed and bound. This step can take 6-8 weeks depending on the season.
All throughout the process you have input on the design. As I always say, “They are your wedding photos, I already have my own”. Every so often I showcase a unique design on the blog – you can check them out by searching for albums, or clicking on the wedding album link on the sidebar.
