Red wedding shoes with a bow

Austin Bridal Pictures

by Eric Hegwer on 23 May, 2010

Last week, before the weather got too hot, the bride, her two sisters, mother and I, headed over to Mayfield Park for some bridal portraits. I love it when the family comes along – not only do I have extra hands to help with laying out the dress, and making sure the hair and wedding makeup are all perfect, but I really love it when I show them the photos on the back of the camera first. And their reaction is always the same – That looks incredible! Sometimes the web doesn’t do justice to the pictures. You have to see the prints.

Anyway, Molly was getting married in a few days at Nature’s Point, and needed some last minute bridals.  We did the session on a Tuesday, had the proofs ready wednesday, and the formal bridal picture was printed and ready on friday.  That’s the absolute last minute, when it comes to bridals.

Here are some of my favs from the session.  I just love taking bridals outdoors.

I like to take a mix of different styles of bridal pictures when we do a session.

Don't you just love the detail on this gown?

I like to incorporate in a lot of nature when I am shooting bridal portraits on location. I know that using graffiti walls and architectural details might be trendy right now, but I love the light and airy look of the outdoors.

At first we tried using her traditional lace veil for the pics, but then decided that a different, birdcage veil would need to be purchased and used instead.

The details you choose are just as important as your gown. Be sure your photographer gets all the details as well as the wedding gown.

Molly,
I want to say congradulations on your wedding. I wish you both the best and I hope your lives are filled with happines. I wish I could have attended I know it was a beautiful ceremony. Oh my God (OMG), you are soooo beautiful. If I didn’t know who you were I would’ve thought you were the spokes model for the photography company. A picture is worth a thousand words and I hope your husband realizes how lucky he is to have you as his wife.

Lots of Love,
Masadia
