One of the hottest wedding trends for weddings is having a candy bar at your wedding. I’ve met with so many couples and during our pre-wedding interview, by far the most common thing I am hearing is that they want to have a wedding candy bar at the reception. They are super easy to set-up, can fit into any wedding budget, and are always a big hit with all the guests. Since they are so colorful, and full of texture, candy bars make for great photo opportunities.
If you are looking for something similar but a little bit different, here are some dessert bar pictures.
This particular candy favor station consisted of yellow and green colors (also two hot color trends for 2010), and all kinds of different sweet treats – gumballs, jaw breakers, jelly beans, and sugar sticks. In addition, this couple had custom chocolate wrappers imprinted with their names and date on individual wedding candy bars scattered around the reception for people to snack on.
How does one make a wedding candy bar? For the do it yourself bride, it’s quite simple – go find about 5 different sweet treats in your color theme – be sure to buy about 5x more than you think you will need. Then head over to your local craft store, 5 and dime, or even thrift shop to find some decorative containers (glass jars, antique bowls, whatever). Add a few cellophane bags and ribbon ties, and you are ready.
