So the other day, I get a great email from a previous bride – It’s been a little bit since her wedding, and now that she and her husband are settling into a more normal routine, they want to get a wedding album made. So I began to go through her photo gallery again, and found some of my favorite shots.
Why did they wait so long after the wedding to get an album made? I’m pretty sure that they (like thousands of other couples) experienced wedding burnout. People spend months and months planning their wedding, and when it is all over sometimes they just don’t want do do any more for a while. Totally understandable. About 95% of my couples seem to get a bit of wedding burnout, and want to take their time with the album design.
I also think there is another reason – It’s so much easier and fun to look at actual pictures printed up and bound into a book. You can just pull it off your shelf, open it up and see all your friends, family, remember all emotions, fun, and excitement of your wedding day. Since more and more couples are making it a priority to get their wedding pictures on a CD or DVD, the heirloom wedding album has sadly fallen by the wayside. Not to mention they are so expensive (I’ll explain why wedding albums cost so much in an upcoming blog post, so be sure to subscribe to my blog by Email or bookmark my RSS feed) .
Anyway, this was a Wimberly Wedding at a fantastic chapel and wedding venue called Old Glory Ranch. With room in the indoor chapel for 200 (and a dance floor that will hold 300) you can understand why this place is so popular to get married at. It’s a bit of a drive from Austin, but totally worth it. The couple had a fantastic rehearsal the night before (which I was honored to attend) with a great Texas theme (mason Jars, red bandanas, lots of color), Mariachi, and tons of family and friends, and then a wedding and blowout party with dancing that went late into the night.. The wedding itself was full of lots of little details, and tons of great emotion. This was one bride who knew how to enjoy herself at her wedding. A true uberBride!
Enjoy the pictures. Of course if you are looking for a wedding photographer, be sure to send me a note and of course leave a comment at the bottom of this page letting me know you were here.
